PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana hints decision against Telangana

Mar 16:

Lending credence to reports that the Congress high command is opting for a solution other than statehood to Telangana, PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said the Centre will take a decision on the T-issue by the end of this month by keeping the interests of all the three regions in the state in mind.

Addressing mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, he said the Centre will take the final decision by considering the long-term interests of the state as well as the aspirations of people of all regions.

“I am sure the Centre will take a decision on state bifurcation in the stipulated 30 days time. However, as the issue is relating to the interests of 9 crore people of the state, the Congress leadership is weighing pros and cons of every possible solution before arriving at a final decision. As soon as Congress takes a decision, it will inform the UPA partners for their nod. After that the decision will be announced,” said Botcha.

He claimed that Congress was the only party that had spelt out its stance on T-issue clearly during the all-party meeting held on December 28 in Delhi. Neither TDP nor YSRC had expressed its views clearly, he said.
