Endowments Minister Quits

Hyderabad:Minister for Endowments Jupalli Krishna Rao resigned on Thursday expressing displeasure over the delay in the formation of Telangana state. His act is likely to trigger a spate of resignations by ministers hailing from the region as Telangana Rashtra Samiti and Telangana Political Joint Action Committee stepped up pressure on them to quit to force the Centre to concede to the demand for a separate state. Krishna Rao, elected from Kollapur in Mahbubnagar district, was made a minister in Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s government last November. He resigned a day after his party colleague and MP from Eluru in West Godavari district of coastal Andhra, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, challenged Telangana leaders to resign and prove their commitment for a separate state
